RRG Plan B this weekend
The area we usually use at Red River Gorge is under fire ban and may have some fire damage.
Plan B is to stay somewhat local (Gas prices are thru the roof) so we have reserved the group camp area at Lake Hope State park for Saturday. We will be departing the church early 0700 am, so arrive 0630 ~0645 ready to go. Eat breakfast prior or bring it with you. We will return Sunday 10-11 o'clock.
Looks like weather will be good, but cold at night and possibly a drizzle on Sunday. Make sure you dress in layers, have warm sleeping gear and rain jacket/ poncho. Also bring your water bottle and maybe an extra, we will have water, but there is not a spigot at the site.
This is a beautiful primitive area, we will be exploring and hiking, wear you boots, should be a great time.

Green River Trip OCT 8/9/10 Now Plan B
Our Fellow Scouts and friends in KY report that the Green River is too low to be fun. Plan B is for a trip down the Mohican River and Base Camping at Mohican Wilderness campground Friday and Saturday night. Everyone is invited.
Cost is $20 (15 for camping + 5 for Saturday Dinner)
Bring your own breakfast (oatmeal etc) for Saturday and Sunday and pack a lunch (spam on a pita) that you will bring in canoe.
Departure is Friday ~5pm to be finalized Thursday night.
Return Sunday ~11am.
Again this is base camping so bring a chair, tent/tarp (troop tents available) (hammock space may be slim). May get cold at night but mid 70s day. As always rain-gear, water bottle, bandanna, cup and something to eat off of (frisbee+foil) and a spork.
Adults welcome If you do not want to canoe, you can hang out at camp. Rumor has it there will be an unusual cooking method demo'd for dinner.
